Are you ready for some Sci Fi?! cool. In episode 173 we dig deep into the wayback bag and pull out a 1953 story by Robert Sheckley called "Beside Still Waters" Much in the vein of Resnick's Robots Don't Cry or Articles of Faith you will see s common thread run through these stories. I love the story where the protagonist steps outside the restrictions of their nature to show us the true human condition. Asimov was a master at writing about robots, but his failing was in describing the human condition applied to non humans. With stories by Sheckley and Resnick, they were more than the sum of their parts, As much as I loved Asimov, you have to admit, that his robots were always robots, (yes, even the Bicentenial Man, which was a great story but just hinted at what Sheckley does with a deft hand) Our other story is a flash selection from A.K. Sykora called "A Worthy Cause" that asks the question, "what is Humanities true rerdeeming feature?
