Episode 170 seems to peculate along in good fashion! Right out of the chocks we have have a story from a new writer to Beam Me Up, Doug Hilton reading his story "The Billboard" a wry tale of a "mysterious alien encounter" that would appear to take the form of the ubiquitous billboard.
I end the hour with part three of the ongoing adventures of one Pestmeister Parvo in Colin P. Davies Pestworld. Circumstances take a turn for the weird for Parvo as it seems more people than ever are intent on doing him harm.
From the Blog The Hugos are in and there are some surprises in this year's award winners. I review the movie Push and a very strange planet indeed has been discovered.
All in all, not a bad mix at all!
Science Fiction, Science Fiction and more science fiction! If it's on TV in print in the movies or even audio science fiction, We try to cover whatever is happening. Also the science of today that might influence new Science fiction.
podcast possible.
Beam Me Up Paul Cole
Beam Me Up continues to grow. This new growth puts demands on our bandwidth. To keep up with demand I have added more bandwidth and storage space - all of which costs. If you enjoy the podcast version of Beam Me Up and would like to help defray some of the expense, please consider making a small donation by selecting the Pay Pal button below. Thanks! The theme of the show is discussion of current science fiction material. I have ongoing conversations about current, new and classic science fiction - what is currently in the theaters, in print and television. Also I like to include science articles that are just out there far enough that I think might influence new science fiction. As time permits, I play as much quality audio science fiction as I can. At least one or two stories during the show. Often I use fiction that has been released under Creative Commons or that material that might be in the public domain but often I ask the authors directly if I can broadcast their short stories. For additional information and or more material and links, please visit the show's blog at www.wrfrbeameup.blogspot.com If you have a short science fiction story and would like to have us read it on-air, please contact us. The show's email address is beammeup@gwi.net. Comments and suggestions are always welcomed.
